About Apricot
It grows on a tree of 4-6 meters high that belongs to Prunoidea sub family of dicots class of rosaceae family. The branches are perpendicular and extensive, the leafs are heart shaped oval, the flowers are pinky white and quite large.
Blooming happen without foliation. The fruit is fleshy, not very juicy, sweet and fragrant. The content of its seed can be eaten. The fruit is durable, quite productive and can be dried easily. It is grown on calcareous soil. It contains high sugar, vitamin C and provitamin A. The types of apricot that grown in Turkey are Şekerpare, Şam, Tokaloğlu, İmrahor, Muhittinbey, Hacıkız, Hasanbey and Darende.
